What is it?

The Ovation! SUMMER PERFORMANCE COMPANY is an acting troupe comprised of high school students  who will learn and work with professional directors and actors to create a workshop production of a play (or musical) for performance at summer’s end.

What will be involved?

Workshop-style discussion, rehearsal, thinking, planning and play production, culminating in public performance

• Classical and modern text analysis
• Movement and Voice for Actors
• Character development
• Focus on story, themes, messages, through lines

What are dates, times and fees?

Dates for summer 2023: Tuesday and Thursday evening rehearsals at Ovation! throughout July and  Aug from 6:30pm to 9:30pm

 *plus there MAY BE additional rehearsals called late August if needed.

Public performance will take place in late Aug/early Sept = specifics TBA!!!

The Fee for this program is $995 + hst.

Who should apply?

 We are looking for 8-10 participants (high school students) who have at least 3 years of prior stage acting training and experience with live performance.  Students participate in an intensive curriculum designed for the more dedicated actor – we give more, we expect more!  Leadership potential, self-discipline, ensemble spirit, sensitivity to others, maturity, a desire to learn, as well as dramatic ability all contribute to a student’s successful experience.

How do I apply?

Registration begins Feb 1st for current Ovation! students.  Auditions will be held in April and May for non-Ovation! students!

Current Ovation! students are asked to contact Bonnie directly for inquiries/application to this program.

Students who are new to Ovation! must book an appointment for an audition date in April or May. Contact us for specific dates/times!
